Spirit Water and the Indian

Have you ever wondered why Indians refer to alcohol as spirit water. It has been called different names by every culture. With the Indian culture being based on the Spirit and their soul is active in this actual activity. The effect that alcohol has tends to create a boisterous or malevolent attitude. A part of the Indian Spirit is directly involved with their ancestors and when incited has the effect of proving that they are worthy as warriors. This in turn causes them to see conflicts as nothing more than a way to prove how great of a breed they are.

During the wars even when they were outnumbered the Indians would attack the opposing party. It should be noted that one of the first things they would do was circle the opposing army. This tactic gave the enemy a chance to try to harm or kill the Indian. The point of this exercise from the Indian perspective was to prove that there were none worthy to cause harm to the Indian. This is because of being protected by the Spirit and when you are protected by the Spirit nothing can kill you. This is not something to take lightly for as far back as anyone can recall there are stories about people being protected by a greater power. In the Christians there are Saints and in Hindu the same thing is taught. It is common to most religions.

Spirit water is the name Indians would call alcohol based drinks because of the effect it would have on them. It would raise their Spirit and incite them to prove they were protected by the Spirit. The other effect it would cause is to prove they are a great warrior and have the best genetic attributes.
